Acts of Kindness

Prompt: Write about a random act of kindness you’ve done for someone.
I’d like to turn it around. I try to be kind whenever I can, because I want to be a good human, but I also want to acknowledge the kindness others do for me.
Recently I was given a cage and some scatter guards by a friend of the rattery. It was in return for kindness I’d shown, but this gesture was a great show of kindness. It was also a very big helping hand to the rattery, as increasing cage space with proper enclosures allows me to grow the rattery and progress further in my breeding project.
This kind act was done in pure generosity, and I’m so humbly grateful. I now have more space to house my rats, allowing me to keep a few more than I normally would. This not only means more breeding, but also more pets. My rats are always pets first, and breeders next. They give my daughter and I a great deal of joy, as we share a common interest in them and adore them equally. So really, this kindness wasn’t just something for me.
I’ll never forget the kindness and generosity of the person who did this, and I hope to maintain an ongoing relationship with them, providing them with all the help and support they may need.
